United Way of the Laurel Highlands
The Somerset Domino's Pizza shop is supporting the United Way of the Laurel Highlands as the nonprofit kicks off its 2021 Annual Campaign.
On Wednesday, Sept. 22, a portion of proceeds earned that day will be donated to the United Way. The charitable organization will quickly put the money to work in efforts to meet basic human needs across the region.
The funding will support core initiatives of youth drug and alcohol prevention, parental engagement and early childhood development. The organization funds programs at 24 Partner Agencies that provide other health and human services, including shelters, food and utility assistance and aid to domestic violence victims.
"Domino's Pizza may be a big name but 99% of all Domino's stores are locally owned. I grew up in . . . PA and care about the success of the communities and the people we service within them. Fundraising for local charities and causes is our way to give back to those in need,” franchise owner Sheldon Port said.
The franchise celebrated a milestone of its own this spring, opening a new location in Somerset at 363 West Main Street.
To help out, order pizza or other food on Sept. 22 from the Somerset Domino's Pizza, located at 363 West Main Street. The phone number is 814-443-1000.
