United Way of the Southern Alleghenies has a Platinum Rating with Candid (formerly GuideStar) and a four-star rating from Charity Navigator. Both are the highest standards.
Here's what Charity Navigator had to say about our best practices.
"This is our highest possible rating and indicates that your organization adheres to sector best practices and executes its mission in a financially efficient way. Attaining a 4-star rating verifies that United Way of the Laurel Highlands exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities in your area of work. This exceptional designation from Charity Navigator sets United Way of the Laurel Highlands apart from its peers and demonstrates to the public its trustworthiness. Approximately only a quarter of rated charities have achieved this distinction!"
(Note: United Way of the Laurel Highlands and United Way of Blair County merged in 2023 to form United Way of the Southern Alleghenies.)
We’re excited to share that our organization has earned a 2022 Platinum Seal of Transparency with Candid.
